Project completion: NLHPP25th March 2022
We’re incredibly proud of the innovative solution that our team have delivered at the multi-million pound North London Heat and Power Project for the North London Waste Authority.
Barhale was awarded the contract to carry out sewer diversion works to make way for a new energy recovery facility, which generates energy from waste in the form of heat and power.
During the design phase of the works, our team identified an opportunity for an innovative tunnel drive shaft design to launch two pipe jacks simultaneously from a single shaft to fast-track the programme.
The two tunnel boring machines were also named by pupils from the local Mountnessing Primary School in Brentwood – Artemis (for the Greek goddess) and Freya (the Norse goddess).
Huge well done to the team!
