Health & Safety

Barhale is fully committed to achieving and maintaining the highest standards of occupational health, safety and wellbeing for all involved in our works, whether directly or as a result of our actions.

We achieve this through trained, competent and experienced people who share our values and operate our accredited systems and processes.

Through close engagement and collaborative working with our management team, our workforce are steeped in Barhale’s values of safety, communication, quality, integrity, team spirit, caring, trust and pride.  We encourage close workforce engagement and a spirit of openness and communication, through our behavioural safety training using our “Be Safe” programme that focusses on the six areas of:

With their willingness to use our Near Miss reporting processes, our workforce are the key source of suggestions for continuous improvement in safety and health.

Our Lloyds accredited Integrated Management System, combining ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001, provide the framework in which we operate. These processes also provide robust Supply Chain selection processes to create an approved supplier listing of likeminded individuals with whom we regularly engage. In addition, we have ISO50001 that drives our energy reduction processes to ensure efficient delivery.

We underpin the above with our 3 Pillar Sustainability Model, where Safety is the number one pillar that leads to customer satisfaction.

BeSafe BeHealthy LogoTo ensure the health and wellbeing of our workforce and to prevent long-term illness, we proactively deliver a “Be Healthy” Programme that focuses on health risk management. We support this through our occupational health team that is available to every employee, 24/7.

All of the above generate a proactive safety culture where our employees work closely with members of the supply chain and our clients to achieve our ultimate aim of Zero Accidents.
