As part of our company-wide Health and Safety stand down day, our Eastern Region came together at the Cresset Theatre in Peterborough for a full day focused on health, safety, innovation and wellbeing.

The day began with a welcome address and corporate presentations from Regional Director Joe Solomon before 330+ colleagues took part in a wide range of workshops. These sessions offered invaluable insights across our industry, including Safety Shield’s innovative Human Form Recognition and Digital Thumbs Up technology, Force One’s demonstration of suction excavation and a behavioural safety session led by LIFE Delivery Manager, Kate Housley.

Wellbeing was also a key theme, with Helen Nelson, supported by the Lighthouse Charity, leading an important discussion on mental health. Other highlights included a look at change management with HSEQ Manager Tim Maltby, a session on PPE from Steve Day with Beeswift, and innovation insights from Josh Mercer. Environmental considerations in construction were addressed by Helen Atkinson and Phil Ingamells with support from Selwood, while fleet safety, driver awareness and safer digging were explored in depth by our Barhale teams and partners.
