The type of work we do
The work experience on offer at Barhale is extremely varied.
If you are working on one of our long-term agreements with water industry clients, you could be involved in substantial new-build projects, designed to improve the environment.
Or you could be engaged on a refurbishment, extension or maintenance of existing infrastructure. A substantial part of our workload is focused on network maintenance. For example, maintenance and operation of sewerage networks, pumping stations and other infrastructure.
Barhale has a well-earned reputation as a tunnelling specialist and there are opportunities to work on bored tunnels as well as cut and cover.
Many of our projects are logistically challenging and on these you will learn about how to manage complex interfaces with the public, other utility operators and their contractors and highways and police authorities.
Our Telecoms Division undertakes repair and maintenance on all BT plant and domestic installations in north London and the Home Counties. Logistically, this means 2,000 work packages in a typical month, half of which have to be completed within 48 hours.
